How This Guide Handles Reader Information
Effective from 10 October 2026. This policy covers readers of this independent English (Australia) guide to Charmius Casino. The guide is separate from the casino: it has no player accounts, takes no deposits and never sees the details you give Charmius when you register there. Below we set out what we collect when you read or contact us, and what we deliberately leave alone.
Who is responsible for your information
The publisher of this guide decides why and how information collected through these pages is used and is therefore responsible for this website. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988, the same standard that applies to organisations covered by that Act, even where a particular exemption could apply. Charmius Casino is a separate operator with its own policy, and it is responsible for everything you give it.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for, receive or store your Charmius login, your password, your payment card or wallet details, your identity documents or proof of address. If you send us a question about a bonus or a payout, leave those out. Documents such as a passport, a driver’s licence or a bank statement belong in the Verification section of your Charmius Profile, not in an email to us. This guide is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if a young person has written to us, tell us by email and we will delete the message.
What we collect, and why
| What | When it arrives | Why we use it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| The message you send (name, email address, the page and figure you are asking about) | When you write to the editorial team | To answer you and to correct the page if you are right | Until the matter is closed and for a limited period afterwards in case you reply |
| Technical visit data, such as browser type, device type, pages opened and approximate region | Automatically, when a page loads | To keep the pages working and to see which questions readers have | In aggregated form for as long as it is useful, raw logs for a shorter period |
| Preferences stored in your browser | When you accept or decline a notice | To remember your choice | Until you clear it or it expires |
We do not sell personal information and we do not build profiles of individual readers. Information is used only for the purpose for which it arrived, or for a closely related purpose you would expect, such as keeping a record of a correction we made in response to your message.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file your browser keeps. Some are needed to deliver the page; others may measure how many people read it. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, and blocking them will not stop you from reading. If a notice on a page asks for your choice, we respect it and do not load optional measurement tools until you agree.
Links to Charmius and other sites
Pages here link to the Charmius site and to services such as Gambling Help Online. When you follow a link, you leave this guide, and the other site collects its own data under its own policy. Charmius links its own Privacy policy beside the Terms and Conditions on its sign-up form, so read it before you register. We have no access to what you enter there, and a link from this guide is not a recommendation to share anything beyond what the form requires.
What Charmius itself asks you for
Readers often confuse the two, so this is what sits on the casino’s side and never reaches us. The registration form asks for an email address, a password, your country and currency, then First name, Last name, Date of birth, Phone number, Street address, City, State/Territory and Postal code. The Verification tab later asks for a photo of a passport, driver’s licence or other identity document, a photo or screenshot of each payment method, and sometimes a utility bill or bank statement. Withdrawals are checked against these records. All of that is held by Charmius under its own policy and is outside this guide.
Who may see your information
Only the editorial team handles messages. Technical providers that host the pages or measure visits may process information on our behalf under instructions that limit use to that service. We may disclose information if the law requires it, for instance in response to a valid order from an Australian court or authority. We pass your message to Charmius only if you ask us to and tell us what to pass on.
Overseas providers
Some hosting and measurement providers store data outside Australia. Where that happens, we choose providers that commit to protecting the information to a standard consistent with the Privacy Act, and we limit what they receive to what the service needs. Under the Australian Privacy Principles we remain accountable for personal information we disclose to an overseas recipient.
If something goes wrong
If we find that personal information we hold has been accessed or disclosed in a way that is likely to cause serious harm, we will assess it promptly and, where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in the Privacy Act applies, notify the people affected and the OAIC with a description of what happened and what to do next.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and to have it corrected if it is wrong, out of date or incomplete. You can also ask us to delete a message you sent, and we will do so unless we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation. Email the request to [email protected], with enough detail to identify your message, such as the date and the page you wrote about. We aim to reply in writing within 30 days, in plain language. Messages are kept in systems that require a login and are open only to the editorial team. Once a question is closed we delete the message or strip the details that identify you, and if you sent something sensitive by mistake you can ask for it to be deleted at once. Access can be refused in the limited cases the Privacy Act allows, and if so we will explain why in writing.
If you are not satisfied with how we handled a request or a privacy concern, you can complain to us first. If it is not resolved, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Before releasing or deleting anything we confirm that the request comes from the email address that sent the original message, and we may ask you to repeat a detail from it, such as the page you asked about. We do not ask for photo identification for a privacy request about a message, because that would mean collecting more information than the request needs.
Marketing messages
We do not send marketing email. If you write to us, we reply to your question only. The Spam Act 2001 sets rules for commercial electronic messages in Australia, and nothing in this policy is a request for your consent to receive them. Marketing messages from Charmius itself, such as the “Stay tuned for personal offers and new promos” box in the registration form and the “Receive promo via email” option in Profile, are controlled by you in your Charmius Profile.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle information, we update this page and its effective date. A change that affects how we use information you have already given us will not apply to that information without telling you first.
How to reach us about privacy
Write to [email protected] and begin the subject with “Privacy”. Please state what you want us to do (access, correct, delete or explain) and which message or page it concerns. For questions about your Charmius account, data you gave the casino or its handling of your documents, contact Charmius through its live chat, which is open 24/7.
